City & Guilds 2377-77 Certificate of Competence Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment – Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing)

This course is aimed at persons undertaking and recording the inspection and testing of electrical equipment commonly know us as “PAT Testing”.

The objective of the City & Guilds 2377-77 Certificate of Competent Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment - Portable Appliance Testing is to give delegates theoretical and practical experience in the implementation of a formal inspection and testing regime for electrical equipment (portable appliances).
 
During the course, a number of practical exercises are undertaken using a range of portable appliance testing equipment. This course is aimed at individuals that who be undertaking the practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment.
 
There is a legal requirement for individuals conducting, inspecting and testing of electrical equipment to be competent and demonstrate an ability to inspect and test class 1 equipment correctly and to be able to complete equipment registration forms.

  • The need to consider the environment, good housekeeping, suitability of equipment for the intended use, disconnection's connection leads when carrying out a formal visual inspection

    Assessments
     
  • Candidates will be required to demonstrate an ability to test an item of class 1 piece of equipment and correctly complete for VA abd VB
  • In addition to the practical assessment above, candidates will be required to undertake a 1 house "on-Line" multiple-choice open book examination.
