City & Guilds 2382-10 17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations for Electrical Installations
This course is aimed at persons new to the electrical industry i.e service leavers, mult/cross skilled individuals or for those that have a 16th Edition certificate but do not feel confident about taking the update course.
The objective of the City & Guilds 2382-10 17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations indicate a level of knowledge required for this assessment:
- Scope, Object and Fundamental Requirements for Safety
- Definitions and Use of the Regulations
- Assessment of General Characteristics
- Protection for Safety
- Selection and Erection of Equipment
- Special Locations
- Inspection and Testing
The Level 3 scheme for assessment and certification is aimed at practicing electricians with relevant experience and is intended to ensure that they are familiar with the layout, content and use of the IEE Regulations BS 7671:2008. It may also be suitable for anyone requiring and understanding of BS7671, although prior knowledge in basic electrics will be required.
Course Content
- Knowledge of contents and use of 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and supporting guides
- Definitions and recommendations for installations
- Complying with ALL the current rules
- Knowledge incorporating information of electricity at Work Act 1989 and Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (BS 7671)
- Some design calculations are included, therefore a non-programmable scientific calculation is required (not provided)
Assessments
- Candidates will be required to undertake a 2 house "on-Line" multiple-choice open book examination.
