City & Guilds 2391 or EAL Equivalant Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

This course is aimed at practising electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training before going on to other qualifications. The qualification is also suitable for those with limited experience of initial inspection of electrical installations, such as those entering the industry from other engineering disciplines or who have been working in allied trades.

 
 
These qualifications are for those with current industry experience of electrical installations to BS7671 and require a Level 3 certificate in inspection and testing.  Candidates lacking industry experience should consider the Domestic Electrical Installer and 18th Edition scheme or take the City and Guilds 2392 Fudamental Inspection, Testing & Initial Verification first.
 
 
 
 
 
The Course will coverthe specific methods of Initial Verification of variouse types of instalations to the current requirement of BS7671. the course covers the inital verification techniques as set out in IET guidance Note 3 and how to complete Certificates and Reports.

    The course consists of:
     
  • Training - 5 days
  • Practical assessment (2.30 hours)
  • Written examination (upto 2½ hours)

    Assessments
     
  • "One-to-one" practical assessment of upto 2.5 hours duration with a qualified Assessor.
  • Upto 2½ hours examintaion depending on which certification body you choose. City & Guilds examination will comprise of multiple choice online exam answer and essay-based questions. EAL examaminitaion are multiple choice online.
