City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations for Electrical Installations Refresher Course 1 Day Update

This course will bring you up to speed with all the changes to BS7671 18th Edition. Once completed you will be required to sit the 2 hour examination at a time to suit.

 
The objective of the City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations course is to cover the changes from 18th Edition to the 18th Edition of the Regulations, including:
 
  • Scope, Object and Fundamental Requirements for Safety
  • Definitions and Use of the Regulations
  • Assessment of General Characteristics
  • Protection for Safety
  • Selection and Erection of Equipment
  • Special Locations
  • Inspection and Testing
  •  
    This update course is aimed at practicing electricians with a working knowledge of the 18th Edition BS7671: and have already achieved the qualification which addresses BS7671.
    (See qualification as listed above).
     
    It is intended to ensure candidates are conversant with the format, content and application of the current edition of the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2008 (18th Edition).
     
    This course is predominantly theory dealing with Regulations.  It contains no practical aspects. Candidates are advised that extensive home study is an essential course requirement, to assist candidates, the use of examination simulators are available on demand.
     
    Assessments
     
  • Candidates will be required to udertake a 2 hour multiple choice, open book ‘on-line’ examination, the exams may be taken in Hull or at Brigg.

    Prepare your business for 18th Edition Amendment 4 (C&G 2382-26) April 2026

    •  

     The IET and BSI have confirmed that Amendment 4 (2026) to BS 7671:2018 (the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations) will be published on 15 April 2026. Businesses will be able to implement the amendment immediately upon publication and the previous version, BS 7671:2018 + A2:2022 + A3:2024, will be withdrawn six months later. Amendment 4 will then become the definitive British Standard for all new low-voltage electrical installations, modifications to existing systems, and periodic inspection and testing.

     

    Significant changes include:

  • A new chapter on stationary secondary batteries where the purpose is for electrical storage and supply of electrical installations.
  • A new section on functional earthing and functional equipotential bonding for information and communication technology (ICT) equipment and systems.
  • A new section on power over ethernet (PoE).
  • A major revision of Section 710 Medical Locations and the inclusion of a schedule of test results for recording the resistance of supplementary protective equipotential bonding conductors
