City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas and ODS Regulations
Crownship’s training courses is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to work on the installation, service, maintenance, recovery and leak checking of stationary refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump equipment that contains refrigerants classified as either fluorinated (F) gases or ozone depleting substances (ODS).
| Crownship’s F-Gas Regulations training courses are designed for both experienced air-conditioning and refrigeration engineers and also candidates who are looking to cross train and gain qualifications in the air conditioning / refrigeration sector. |
| All personnel whose work involves the handling of refrigerants within the scope of the F Gas regulations will need to be assessed by City & Guilds or equivalent by July 2011. |
| Crownship offers the new City & Guilds qualification to meet the legal requirements of EC Regulation 842/2006 (commonly known as the F-Gas Regulation). The Certification Schemes are designed for operatives who install, service and repair refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems, and require the following skills: |

| ACRIB are concerned that with 40,000 engineers requiring re-qualification the timescales are very tight. |
| There are 4 competency categories for anyone who installs, services or repairs air conditioning or refrigeration equipment. |
| Category 1 (2079-11) |
| Crownship offer the most comprehensive Category 1 City & Guilds 2079-11 which covers all aspects of installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, recovery and leak checking on all refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems in accordance with the F-Gas Regulation EC842/2006, regardless of the weight of refrigerant in the system. |

| All candidates will be able to ensure systems are tight, efficient in their use of energy and meet the F-Gas legal requirement |
