BPEC Solar Hot Water

The BPEC Solar Hot Water course has been designed for heating engineers, plumbers and design engineers.

The BPEC Solar Hot Water course is a mixture of both theory and practical. Some of the time is spent working outside on a low level purpose built roof, which is usually on the first day. At the end of the second day there will be an exam based on the material contained both within the manual and the training course.

Subjects Covered:

Day 1:

• Introduction to Domestic Solar Hot Water Systems and the different types of collector
• Sizing and installing collectors
• Practical session on the roof
• Hot water installation and plumbing layouts
• Practical session 

Day 2:

• Solar controllers / Practical session setting up controllers
• Commissioning systems / Practical session - commissioning
• Practical session - maintenance
• Assessment *(only those with Part G3)
