Experience Worker Route (Plumbing)

The Experienced Worker Route is designed to assist a worker experienced in a wide range of plumbing activities and practices to achieve the City & Guilds 6189 NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating.

The pre-requisite for this alternative process requires the candidate to provide:-

Documentary evidence of a minimum of 3 years proven work experience. This can be for example but not exclusive to, a CV or a letter from an employer.

Implementation

A Crownship Assessor supported by an Internal Verifier will provide the candidate(s) with advice, guidance and formal assessment. 

The aim of the induction is to ensure the candidate(s) are clear about the process and to establish achievable time scales. This can be completed via telephone, skype and email and or face to face.

When sufficient evidence for each unit has been obtained, this will be formally assessed and verified when all units are complete, full certification will be applied for.

Jon Cogdell Ex navy from Farham in Hampshire prior to joining the navy he worked as a plumber but did not obtain any certification. Having left the navy he obtained a job back in plumbing, due to his lack of qualification he was unable to progress and obtain a craft skill card.
