Via reference and practical work Candidates will cover a range of topics including:
 
  • Working at Height Regulations 2005
  • Knowledge and recognition of defects to be found in step ladders and ladders
  • Pre-use inspection of step ladders and ladders
  • Types of step ladders, ladders and their uses
  • Safe methods of transporting and moving step ladders and ladders to the work location
  • One and two person handling of ladders including erection of double extension ladders
  • Safe use of step ladders
  • Safe use of ladders at their correct base to height ratio
  • Practical exercise in erecting ladders
  • Self-locking mobile tower scaffolds: knowledge and understanding of the safety requirements of height limitations and means of access
  • Recognition of components, the hazards and safety precautions associated with mobile tower scaffolds
  • The ability to erect and dismantle with confidence using a safe sequence of operation mobile scaffold tower
  • Correct use of guard rails and toe boards
  • Practical exercise in erecting a tower scaffold
  • End test questionnaire
